The report writes itself, on Monday morning
Nobody enjoys assembling the hiring update, and the version people do assemble is usually a count of applications. I write the one that says where the plan is actually breaking.

A report that names the bottleneck
Pipeline health per role
Where every role stands against the plan, with on track, at risk and stalled called plainly rather than shaded green.
Where things stall
The specific stage, and usually the specific person or step holding it. Most stalls are one calendar, not a funnel problem.
Sourcing quality
Reply rates, pass through rates and how the shortlist compares to what your team actually advanced.
What to do next
Two or three recommendations, each tied to a number, ready to paste into the exec update.
Every ATS ships analytics, and almost nobody looks at them, because a chart does not tell you which decision to make.
One job, learned properly
I do recruiting and nothing else. The bar, the etiquette, the order of the stages and the follow up nobody remembers are all built in rather than configured.
Titles lie and stacks change. I look at what someone shipped, who they shipped it with, and how fast they grew into the work.
You get the commit, the talk, the customer they carried, the line in the release notes. If I cannot show why, I do not claim it.
Your bar becomes a written rubric I apply the same way on Monday and on Friday, so a shortlist is comparable instead of moody.
Disagree with a score and I show the reasoning behind it, then carry your correction into the next batch.
What people ask about automated reporting
Where does the data come from?
Your ATS, the calendar and what happened in the channel. Nothing is retyped, so the report cannot drift from the system of record.
Can I change what is in it?
Yes. Tell me in the thread what you want added or dropped and the next one is different. It is a habit, not a fixed template.
Who can see it?
Whoever is in the channel you send it to. Most teams run one for the hiring leads and a shorter one for the exec channel.

Pipeline health, the real bottleneck and what to do about it.
