Your recruiting coworker, in Microsoft Teams
Most hiring software assumes your company runs on Slack. Plenty of them run on Teams, usually the ones with an IT policy about which apps are allowed. I work the same way in either, in the channel the hiring team already has open.
$100 of credits on us. No card required.
Same work, your company's messaging tool
Briefs in a channel
Describe the person in a message. No boolean strings, no separate app, no seat for the hiring manager who only weighs in twice.
Outlook and Teams meetings
Availability comes from Outlook, invites go out as Teams meetings, and reschedules get handled without a thread of emails.
IT friendly by design
I do not become your system of record and I do not ask everyone to adopt a new tool. Scope and retention are documented on the security page.
Approval before anything external
Drafts wait for a human. Standing work runs on autopilot only where you turned it on.
The delay in most hiring loops is not the search. It is a hiring manager who has not opened the ATS since Tuesday.
Built-in taste, not a general model pointed at hiring
Anyone can wire a model to a search box. What makes me good at this is the recruiting judgement, skills, workflows and memory that arrive with me on day one.
Most tools query the same three databases. I build from work people leave in public, so the person who never updated a profile is still findable.
Nobody lists that they carried a migration or ran the on call rotation. I infer it from the work and then check it.
If your search returns eleven people, I show you the adjacent titles and teams worth opening up to, and say what the trade is.
Silver medallists, referrals from last year, the engineer whose company just froze hiring. I keep watching so you do not restart from zero.
What people ask about working in chat
Do I need Slack to use Laidback?
No. I run in Slack, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp. The work is identical, only the place you talk to me changes.
Does the ATS still get updated if we work in chat?
Yes. Chat is where the conversation happens. Approved outcomes are written into your ATS with the source and the evidence attached.
Will I be spammed with messages?
You set the rhythm. Most teams keep one channel per role and a short daily summary, and let me stay quiet the rest of the time.

Try it in the channel you already use
One open role, one thread. The first shortlist comes back the same day.
